Kinoton receives another Academy Award®
On February 14, 2004 Kinoton received a Scientific and Engineering Oscar® from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the design and groundbreaking technology of Kinoton's FP-30/38EC/II High Speed Dubbing Projector, and its success within the industry. The statue was presented by actress Jennifer Garner at the Scientific and Technical Awards Banquet, a part of the Oscar Ceremony held prior to the televised ceremony. The venue was The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Pasadena, CA. The decision to award the prestigious Scientific and Engineering Oscar®, a bronze statue, to Kinoton as part of the 76th Annual Academy Awards® was announced in January 2004 after two years of analysis by the Academy. Kinoton has been honored to receive the Scientific and Engineering Oscar® before, for the invention of the Platter film handling system, now standard in nearly every cinema. The Scientific and Engineering Oscar® is a more prestigious award than the more-often-awarded Technical Achievement certificate. The award was accepted by Renate Zoller and Gerald Wilke, accompanied by Christoph Dobler and Larry Shaw.
