Kinoton FVT 600/1200 Film Viewing Table
In November, Kinoton America successfully introduced the new Kinoton FVT 600/1200 Film Viewing Table at the AMIA 2011 Conference in Austin, TX.
The FVT is a unique tool for evaluating archival stock for both 35mm and 16mm film. It includes an extremely versatile combination of features, which have not been previously available in such a compact, flatbed table design.
Members of various film archives, both from the U.S and internationally, including the nations’ largest archives, took advantage of the opportunity for hands-on experience with the first FVT in the states. The feedback received was extremely positive, confirming Kinoton’s concept creating a device that combines a clear, user-friendly design with a large number of features dedicated to archival work.
The FVT is currently being demonstrated and tested at various places throughout the U.S. First production units will be shipped in February or March of next year (2012).
The annual conference of the Association of Moving Image Archivists offers the archival community an excellent opportunity to share information and to learn about many of the latest developments in archival work.
Kinoton America, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of Kinoton equipment for the United States and Canada. The company has supplied Kinoton film projection technology to several film archives, including Library of Congress, UCLA Film & Television Archive, MoMA and many more. With the new FVT Film Viewing Tables, the product line for 35mm and 16mm film is expanded, underscoring the commitment of Kinoton America to institutions that preserve this important part of our cultural heritage.
